Emmy-winning, Tony- & Grammy-nominated Liz Callaway returns to The Bradstan Cabaret Series

Emmy-winning and Tony- and Grammy-nominated Liz Callaway makes her return to The Bradstan Cabaret Series with her show, “To Steve With Love: Liz Callaway Celebrates Sondheim” at The Eldred Preserve on July 7 at 7 p.m.

The show, and Callaway’s Grammy-nominated album of the same name, honors Stephen Sondheim, the most influential composer and lyricist of the modern musical, and the writer Callaway has said changed her life. After making her Broadway debut in Sondheim’s original production of “Merrily We Roll Along,” the two began a lasting friendship of encouragement and collaboration.

Callaway has told Playbill, “I’ll always be grateful to Steve for taking a chance on me, for his guidance, and for giving me ‘so much stuff to sing!’” Continuing to pay homage to Sondheim, Callaway will showcase his classic hits along with humorous, nostalgic stories of the two working together.

Liz Callaway delivers an impeccable show every time,” said Scott Samuelson, the chief operating officer at The Eldred Preserve. “We are thrilled to have her back for another year of The Bradstan Cabaret Series, and we know our guests are, too!”

Callaway has starred in Broadway’s “Baby,” “Miss Saigon,” “The Look of Love,” “The Three Musketeers,” and for five years appeared as Grizabella in “Cats.” She won an Emmy for hosting “Ready To Go,” a daily children’s program on CBS, and is well-known for singing the Oscar-nominated song “Journey to the Past” from the animated classic “Anastasia.” In addition, Callaway also lent her voice to other Disney classics such as “Beauty and the Beast,” “Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride,” and as Princess Jasmine in “Aladdin 2: The Return of Jafar” and “Aladdin and the King of Thieves.”

The 2024 Bradstan Cabaret Series lineup also includes Roz Brown, Jeff Harnar, Ann Hampton Callaway, Jeanne MacDonald, John Pinto Jr. with Jaron Barney, and Maureen Langan The series incorporates performances across a variety of genres, including classic cabaret, Broadway tunes, Rock + Roll, Motown, and comedy.
