ABOUT JEANNE

Jeanne MacDonald has earned a reputation as one of New Yorkโs finest cabaret singersโan artist with the rare ability to make a lyric feel freshly written, then turn around and swing, soar, or land a punchline with equal ease. A true storyteller in song, Jeanne brings an honest, intelligent point of view to everything she singsโmoving seamlessly from jazz to classical to musical theater.
Originally from Freeport, Long Island and a graduate of the Crane School of Music, Jeanneโs artistic roots are deeply tied to Sullivan County. She first developed her craft at the original Bradstan Country Hotel in White Lake, where she performed for years and recorded her beloved album Live at the Bradstanโa full-circle connection that makes every return feel personal.
Her debut CD Company, produced and arranged by longtime musical director/arranger Rick Jensen, received extensive critical praise and earned a MAC nomination for Recording of the Yearโearly proof of what audiences now know: Jeanne doesnโt just โsing songs,โ she builds a whole evening that hangs together.
Since those Bradstan beginnings, Jeanne has performed across New York City cabaret rooms including the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, the Metropolitan Room, and more, collecting major recognition along the wayโMAC Award winner (Female Vocalist), Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist, MAC Hanson Award, and the Julie Wilson Award for excellence in cabaret (presented on the stage at Jazz at Lincoln Center).
Most recently, working with musical director Tracy Stark, Jeanne debuted a newer show to a sold-out crowd as part of The Bradstan Cabaret Series and has continued to prove what critics have said: time away from the Manhattan cabaret circuit hasnโt dulled a thingโher voice remains โa beautiful instrument,โ delivered with โnatural warmth and wit.โ
Sheโs thrilled to return once againโback where so much of her story began.
