ABOUT JEANNE

Jeanne MacDonald has earned a reputation as one of New York’s finest singers in cabaret today, encompassing a wide range of performance styles. From jazz to classical to musical theater, Jeanne is a storyteller in song — a singer known to bring an honest, intelligent interpretation of her songs to each performance.
Originally from Freeport, Long Island, Jeanne is a graduate of the Crane School of Music. She first developed her artistry in Sullivan County at the Bradstan Country Hotel in White Lake, New York, where she sang for many years and recorded her CD, “Live at the Bradstan.” Jeanne’s debut CD “Company,” produced and arranged by her longtime musical director/arranger Rick Jensen, received extensive critical praise and a MAC nomination for Recording of the Year.
Since her beginnings at the Bradstan Country Hotel, Jeanne has gone on to perform in various New York City venues such as the renowned Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, the FireBird Cafe, the Metropolitan Room, and more. Throughout her career, she has been lauded as “a lyricist’s dream” and has received extensive recognition for her performances both in and out of NYC, including myriad awards.
She is a 2008 MAC Award winner for Female Vocalist, and a 2008 NY Nightlife Award finalist, both of which she received in 2004 as well. She has earned the Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist, the MAC Hanson Award, and in 2005, was presented with the Julie Wilson Award for excellence in cabaret on the stage at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Returning to her roots, Jeanne debuted her newest show (developed with musical director Tracy Stark) to a sold-out crowd last September as part of The Bradstan Cabaret Series at The Eldred Preserve. She is thrilled to be back for her fourth appearance in this annual series!
