Emmy winner and Tony & GRAMMY nominee Liz Callaway takes over The Bradstan stage at The Eldred Preserve with an evening built around her album The Wizard and I: Liz Callaway Sings Stephen Schwartz. Expect iconic songs, personal stories, and a world-class voice in an intimate Catskills setting where every lyric lands up close.

Liz Callaway is an Emmy Award-winning, Tony Award-nominated, and GRAMMY Award-nominated actress, singer, and recording artist—an artist cabaret was built for: a world-class voice with Broadway power, a storyteller’s instincts, and the rare ability to make a room feel both glamorous and personal at the same time. Long celebrated as an interpreter of Stephen Schwartz’s work, Callaway now turns her full attention to his extraordinary catalog with The Wizard and I: Liz Callaway Sings Stephen Schwartz, celebrating the release of her brand-new album and live show.
Featuring songs from a career that has spanned nearly 60 years and every form of media—as well as a new song Schwartz wrote especially for her—the evening is a personal celebration of the songwriter behind some of musical theater’s most beloved work. Drawing from Academy Award- and GRAMMY-winning favorites from Wicked, Godspell, Pippin, The Baker’s Wife, and more, Callaway pairs these iconic songs with stories from her lifelong professional relationship and friendship with Schwartz. The live album was recorded over two sold-out nights at New York’s famed 54 Below.
Callaway’s own career gives her more than enough artistry to meet this material at the highest level. She made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, earned a Tony nomination for Baby, and spent five years in the acclaimed role of Grizabella in Cats. She has also starred in the original casts of Miss Saigon, The Three Musketeers, and The Look of Love. Beyond Broadway, she sang the Academy Award-nominated “Journey to the Past” in Anastasia and served as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin sequels.
A celebrated recording artist, Callaway has released eight solo albums, including To Steve With Love: Liz Callaway Celebrates Sondheim, which received a 2023 GRAMMY nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. With The Wizard and I, she brings together everything that makes her such a singular cabaret artist: exquisite musicality, emotional honesty, and the ability to turn a set of songs into a fully lived evening.
