“Barbra Streisand impersonators are a dime a dozen…However, Steve Brinberg is something quite extraordinary, whilst many look like her, he has the voice to boot and that’s what makes Simply Barbra simply irresistible.” —Craig Hepworth, What’s on Stage

Steven Brinberg has been doing his live vocal and comic impression of Barbra Streisand for two decades around the world. The constantly-updated Simply Barbra show has earned two MAC Awards, a Bistro Award, and was nominated for a 2018 Robby Award for Theater and Cabaret in Los Angeles.
The first Simply Barbra show began in his native New York, where it ran for three years, and has since played across the U.S., in London’s West End, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sydney, Melbourne, Barcelona, Bangkok, Puerto Vallarta, Toronto, and in even more cities than the real Barbra.
Steven spent 11 years touring with Marvin Hamlisch and his symphony orchestra as a special guest star, and recently narrated the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus concert at Avery Fisher Hall, written especially for him by Terrence McNally. He has performed at Stephen Sondheim’s birthday concert at the Library of Congress; at Carnegie Hall with Uptown Express; and on Broadway in the concert version of Funny Girl with Whoopi Goldberg. Steven has also performed at special events for such notables as Donna Karan, Joan Rivers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Liza Minnelli.
His film credits include Camp, Boys Life, and Next Year in Jerusalem, while his television appearances include The Rosie O’Donnell Show, Sally Jessy Raphael, Jerry Springer, Bert Newton, Kerri Anne (Australia), Fox News Channel, and MTV’s Celebrity Deathmatch as the voice of David Spade.
