Tony-Nominated Performer Ann Hampton Callaway Returns to The Eldred Preserve

Tony-nominated performer Ann Hampton Callaway, one of America’s most gifted artists in pop and jazz, brings her talents back to The Eldred Preserve with her new show, “Finding Beauty: Inspired Classics + Originals,” on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m.

The show features classics from her songwriting inspirations — Carole King, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Paul Simon, and many more — along with songs from her new CD “Finding Beauty, Originals, Vol. 1.” Fans can delight in top hits Callaway has written, like Barbra Streisand’s “At the Same Time,” as well as new songs she’s co-written with Oscar winner Alan Bergman, Grammy winner Melissa Manchester, and Grammy nominee Amanda McBroom.

A leading champion of the Great American Songbook, Callaway has made her mark as a singer, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, actress, educator, TV host, and producer. She was voted by Broadway World as “Entertainer of the Year” in 2022 and “Best Jazz Vocalist” two years in a row. Callaway is best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the popular Broadway musical “Swing!” and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series “The Nanny.” She made her feature film debut opposite Angelina Jolie and Matt Damon in the Robert De Niro film “The Good Shepherd.”

Callaway is a Platinum Award-selling writer whose songs are featured on seven of Streisand’s recent CDs. She has recorded over 50 CDs as a soloist and guest, including her critically acclaimed CD “Fever: A Peggy Lee Celebration!” Her honors include The Theater World Award, 16 MAC Awards, several Bistro Awards, the Mabel Mercer Award, the Johnny Mercer Award for Songwriting, the Norman Vincent Peale Award for Positive Thinking, and her induction into the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame. Callaway’s latest album, “Finding Beauty,” was released late last year and debuted No. 1 in Jazz and No. 7 in US Top Albums on the iTunes charts. The first to include an all-original track list, “Finding Beauty” features guest artists Kurt Elling, Tierney Sutton, Manchester, and Callaway’s equally talented sister, Liz Callaway, singing duets with Callaway.

Ann Hampton Callaway is an undeniable talent,“ said Scott Samuelson, chief operating officer of The Eldred Preserve. “We are thrilled to have such a radiant, gifted performer back for another year of The Bradstan Cabaret Series.”

Other performers to take the stage during the remainder of the 2024 Bradstan Cabaret Series lineup include Jeff Harnar,  Jeanne MacDonaldJohn Pinto Jr. with Jaron Barney, and Maureen Langan. The series incorporates performances across a variety of genres, including classic cabaret, Broadway tunes, Rock + Roll, Motown, and comedy.
