The Eldred Preserve will welcome back Broadway and cabaret favorite Karen Mason to The Bradstan Cabaret Series on Sunday, Aug. 9, with “Broadway, Baby,” a new show celebrating the songs, stories, and larger-than-life moments that define a life in musical theater. Mason returns to The Bradstan with a sassy, brassy evening that pairs powerhouse vocals with sharp storytelling, signature humor, and fan-favorite showstoppers including “All That Jazz,” “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” and “As If We Never Said Goodbye.” Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with showtime at 7 p.m.
Part concert, part conversation, “Broadway, Baby” blends iconic show tunes with the wit, warmth, and behind-the-scenes stories that have made Mason one of cabaret’s most beloved performers.
A 14-time MAC Award winner and recipient of the MAC Lifetime Achievement Award, Mason has built a celebrated career spanning Broadway, television, recordings, and concert stages. Her Broadway credits include a critically acclaimed run as Norma Desmond in “Sunset Boulevard,” originating the role of Tanya in “Mamma Mia!” — which earned her a Drama Desk nomination — and major roles in “Hairspray” and “Wonderland.” Her latest recording, “Karen Mason… And All That Jazz!,” celebrates the music of John Kander and Fred Ebb, whose work includes “Chicago,” “Cabaret,” and “New York, New York.”
